There are some days when cooking a full on meal just isn’t going to happen. Maybe you don’t have the time, maybe you don’t have the energy, or maybe you’re just dreading the clean up process. We get it, some nights  cooking just isn’t in the cards. But instead of pulling up that Uber Eats app, why not whip up a quick mug recipe? We’ve all seen the classic mug cakes and muffins, but there’s also so many other simple and convenient recipes you can make with just a mug, a microwave, and a few pantry staples. Check out the list below for some comfort food you can have ready in minutes.

Omelet in a Mug

What you’ll need: An egg, ⅓ cup of shredded cheese, and your desired mix-ins (bacon bits, diced tomatoes, spinach, etc.)

How to make it: Crack an egg into your mug. Add in cheese and mix-ins and stir. Microwave on high for 1 minute, stir, and microwave on high for 30 more seconds. Make sure the egg is thoroughly cooked before eating.

Why you’ll love it: This is the perfect early morning breakfast. It is extremely easy to make, and there is little clean up involved. It’s also a protein packed, comforting start to your day.

Pancake in a Mug

Relax this Galentine’s Day with your own personal wine tasting. Not only will you have the chance to try something new (and maybe find a new favorite), it’s also the start to a great virtual Galentine’s Day event. So grab some friends, this great book and your favorite wines and host your own a virtual tasting event.

What you’ll need: ¼ cup of flour, 2 tsp of sugar, 3 tbsp of milk, ½ tsp baking powder,  ½ tsp of vanilla extract, desired mix-ins (fruits or chocolate chips), and syrup.

How to make it: Add flour, sugar, and baking powder to a mug. Add in remaining wet ingredients and mix. If working with mix-ins you can add them now and mix again. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Add syrup and enjoy.

Why you’ll love it: This recipe is great for if you have a sweet tooth and also want to practice a little portion control. You get the perfect amount of warm fluffy goodness, and the meal only takes a couple of minutes to make. What more could you ask for?

Mac & Cheese in a Mug

What you’ll need: ⅓ cup macaroni, ⅓ cup shredded cheese, ¼ cup milk, and ½ tbsp of butter.

How to make it: Add macaroni to a mug. Add in the cheese, milk, and butter (this will incorporate better if softened) and stir. Microwave on high for one minute or until milk boils. Test that pasta is cooked before eating.

Why you’ll love it: This recipe is ideal for one of those days you just don’t feel like taking the extra time to scrub all that cheese off your favorite pot. You get all the cheesy deliciousness of regular mac and cheese with a fraction of the effort and cooking time.

Brownie in a Mug

What you’ll need: ¼ cup flour, ¼ cup sugar, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, ¼ cup milk, 1 tbsp vegetable oil, desired amount of chocolate chips, and a pinch of salt.

How to make it: Add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a mug. Add in the remaining wet ingredients and stir. Microwave on high for one minute.

Why you’ll love it: Trust us, this brownie is like taking a little bite out of chocolate heaven. This recipe is also great for those who live alone. Why make an entire tray when you’re the only one who's going to be eating them? It’s everything a brownie should be: simple, sweet, and ooey-gooey.
